Quotes

Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. - Albert Einstein

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world.- Buddha

What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind. - Buddha

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without. The mind is the source of happiness and unhappiness. - Buddha

The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. - Buddha

To accept and understand death is to embrace and love life.

Death should not be feared but understood, because death allows us to appreciate life. So many people find it a morbid subject, but it is not, death promotes life. If we all remained mindful that we all shall oneday be gone, how precious does life become, and how precious does our time become.

The way to happiness

Happness is found in a balanced life, open mindedness, forgivenes and a willing to accept change.

In order to achieve happiness we must first find balance within ourselves. This is because in finding balance we must first come to know who and what we are. Obviously we all know who and what we are on one level, but on a more deeper level will this still stand? How many of us actually objectively look at ourself and see all our own faults and equally all the good. This is the beginning to understanding the truth and finding complete happiness. It is so important to see firstly the truth within, forgive ourselves for any wrongs we have done, forgive others who have wronged us and embrace our own goodness. Letting go of the past, living in the present and understanding that the future is just a vision of a possibility.

"If we live each moment in peace and harmony all our memories will be happy memories"

We all strive to achieve a state of happiness no matter where our backgrounds may lay, this is our basic driving force. Some people will find pleasure in material wealth, some in religious beliefs, but ultimately collapsing ourselves into any extreme causes a biased perception of the world and creates a blinkered view. It is important to remain open minded and accept that there is truth to be found everywhere, we just need to remain mindful and open to the signs. By remaining balanced creates a unique vantage point, unbiased by extreme views and able to move and grow as our experiences and understanding grows, this attitude creates an enviroment of willingnes to change.

Change is important, without change we could not grow and all would become stagnant and die, change allows us to look within and alter the wrong, let go of the past and move on in the present. We live on the crest of a wave, in constant change, to deny change is to deny our own potential.

"Yesterday is a dream, tomorrow is a vision, it is only now in the present where we exist. So learn from the past, plan for the future, it is in the present where we plant the seeds. So forgive and rejoice from the past, be patient for the future, it is in the present were we find happiness"

Where do we start..

I often wonder about the universe and our role, if any, in it. Is there a greater purpose for each of us, a destiny or fate? Are we missing the fundamental reason we all exist and are here?
So where do we start, what direction do we go in order to find the truth in all things. What is truth, this is perhaps the ultimate question, the ultimate reality, and cannot be easily understood. This is because of our individuality, we each have a perspective about our world which is based on our own life experiences, and is very biased, this makes a single truth hard to comprehend.
But are we so different? I believe on a more basic level we are fundamentally the same, striving for the same goal, ultimately to be happy in our life. So to understand truth, we must first understand each other and how we interact, think and feel. Understand our relationship to time and to our ultimate ending, death.
